SAFETY NET

The seemingly disparate programmatic needs o the Community Court and the Fire Station are united through one core value: civic service. This project unites those who serve the community and those who take advantage of the services through equitable, accessible, sensitive distribution of space. The microclimate created under the organic timer grid shell forms a safer foil to the harsh overpass of I-35 under which homeless individuals gather. The Fire Station is separate from the program of the Community Court in some key places, providing privacy to sensitive programs like decontamination and dormitories while superposing the two civic service programs ni key location like the courtyard and the shared fitness center
