SHAPE OF SOUND

The sound of the sea is a constant, ever-changing thrum with countless variables. “The Shape of Sound” project seeks to encapsulate the unique auditory essence of the sea at a particular moment and location.

“The Shape of Sound” represents an exploration of process at the crossroads of art and technology. I utilized ocean waves as the initial input, extracting auditory and postional metrics to craft a script that creatively visualizes this data. I then employed a KUKA robot to trace the path generated by the sound wave according to the script to produce art.
