Illustrated in the Bandes Dessinées tradition, this artwork draws inspiration from my trip to Dubai, specifically the captivating Madinat Jumeirah. Dubai, a city of paradoxes, thrives as a cosmopolitan oasis within a conservative macroclimate, skillfully blending extravagant opulence with rich traditions in its architectural marvels. My exploration of Madinat Jumeirah, resembling an Arabian mini-city with a venetian-inspired river system winding through ornate souks, initially felt disorienting. Yet, within this luxury plaza for the wealthy, the juxtaposition of diverse cultural elements reminded me of the lessons from "Learning from Las Vegas." It shed light on Dubai's distinctive approach to economic survival through tourism.

I embrace the performative cultural clashes, recognizing that, when appreciated for what they are, they create remarkably beautiful spaces. This insight becomes a vital contribution to the fictional world I weave through my art, a world inspired by the adventures and landscapes encountered during my travels.
