Illustrated in the Bandes Dessinées tradition, this piece draws inspiration from my journey to Fort Amer in Jaipur.
Perched majestically on a hilltop overlooking Maota Lake, the fortress seamlessly blends Hindu and Mughal influences, offering a captivating glimpse into history. The entrance, adorned with intricately carved sandstone, transports visitors back in time. Once inside, the fort unfolds a world of breathtaking beauty with ornate palaces, serene courtyards, and stunning frescoes that vividly narrate tales of valor and romance.
While the fort's architecture stands as a marvel on its own, the monumental scale of the cliffsides dwarfs the already grandiose archways, creating a humbling sense of smallness. Contemplating the awe-inspiring impact this fortress would have had on the subjects of Amer and their enemies contributes to the fictional world I'm crafting through my art—an imaginative realm inspired by the adventures and landscapes encountered during my travels.
